BTNX Rapid Antigen Test Terms of Service
The user of the Product acknowledges the following (updated September 1, 2021)
Rapid Antigen Tests: Antigen rapid tests for SARS-CoV-2 (Coronavirus) can be an important additional tool to reduce the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Haven Testing offers a rapid antigen test for SARS-CoV-2 manufactured by BTNX Inc., which can be used for these purposes (the "Product").
Instructions for Use: Complete instructions for use of the Product are included in the packaging and must be read and followed exactly to ensure accuracy of results and your own personal safety.
Screening: This Product is intended for use as a screening test and is not to be considered a public health diagnostic test result. The test is best used for serial testing where individuals are tested twice, spread over the course of three days. The test is also best used within seven days of any onset of symptoms. All provincial and federal regulations must be followed in the administering of screening. Regardless of local regulations, this test is not suitable for individuals under the age of two, and sampling must not be conducted by an individual under the age of 15. Individuals age 15 or older are permitted to self-administer the sample in jurisdictions where self-administration is permitted.
Provincial Regulations: Use of these tests must be in conformity with all applicable local, national and international laws, rules and regulations. These regulations may require the test to be administered or interpreted by a medical professional. These regulations are subject to change, and it is the responsibility of the user to keep up to date on the permitted uses. Haven Testing is not responsible for usage of the tests which fall outside what is permitted by local regulations.
Continuation of Best Practices: Please remember that given the amount of uncertainty with these tests, it does not change the need to follow public health best practices: still physically/socially isolate, stand six feet apart from others, wear a mask, and wash your hands thoroughly. A negative result cannot guarantee that you are free from infection,
Reliability of Results: The accuracy of the tests depends on a variety of factors including when in the exposure window the sample is collected. A negative test result does not mean the tested person is not carrying the virus. Negative test results may therefore not be used as the sole basis for infection control or treatment decisions. Test results should be interpreted in connection with other factors, such as symptoms and history. Confirmatory testing with public health is recommended for individuals who are (i) symptomatic but test negative, or (ii) asymptomatic but test positive. Refer to your public health unit for more information.
Interpreting Results:
A negative antigen test result does not guarantee the absence of a SARS-CoV-2 infection. For instance, a negative could represent:
- You do not have a SARS-CoV-2 infection.
- You are currently infected, but the test was done too early to detect the presence of the virus.
- The sample was not collected properly per the instructions and does not represent a valid result.
- You have an infection of a variant of the SARS-CoV-2 virus which is not detectable by this screening test.
- This test is a false negative.
A positive antigen test does not guarantee the presence of a SARS-CoV-2 infection. For instance, a positive could represent:
- You have a SARS-CoV-2 infection.
- The sample was not collected properly per the instructions and does not represent a valid response.
- The test is a false positive.
It is possible that a screening sample will produce an inconclusive result. This can be due to errors in test preparation and sampling methodologies.
Not all Pathogens Detected: This Product will not identify all pathogens or diseases. It is limited in scope to screening for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, and does not infer any information on the presence of other pathogens or the health of an individual.
Limitation of Liability: Haven Testing makes no representation or warranty regarding the performance of the Product, including without limitation the accuracy of test results, and is not responsible for any harm arising from the use of the Product. Such harm, responsibility for which is hereby expressly disclaimed, may include harm to the person or property, whether direct or indirect and whether foreseeable or unforeseeable, including for greater certainty and without limitation the adverse effects of test information upon mental health and the financial consequences arising therefrom.
